The last few weeks has seen Rothiemurchus fully come to life for the summer. Not only has nature caught up after the long cold winter but staff and visitors have been out in force enjoying the fine weather.
Rothiemurchus was fortunate to be part of the International Bugatti Car Rally that took place throughout Scotland two weeks ago. The rally stopped off for a bite to eat on the estate before carrying on their onward journey. Needless to say it provided a spectacle for everyone luck enough to be on Rothiemurchus that day!
Those familiar with Rothiemurchus will know that we are blessed for having fantastic wildlife and views to take in whilst out at work and the Ranger Service are best placed to enjoy such vistas. A recent patrol up to Glenn Einich provided a real sense of tranquillity and only the temperature prevented a comparison with the Caribbean by the looks of the colour of the water!
Finally Sandy the farmer is busy all year round but a job that requires estate staff to pull together and help him is gathering in the silage and covering it. Vast quantities of tyres are used to weigh down the black polythene that covers the silage. It is a real concerted effort by all involved to place the tyres on the rather large mound of grass that is used for feed in the winter.
